On June 25th, the Espresso Italiano Champion 2025, one of the most prestigious events in the world of coffee, promoted by the Istituto Espresso Italiano, ended. This championship represents a moment of great importance for the sector, highlighting the skills, passion and excellence of the best Italian baristas.
We are extremely proud to share the results of this competition, which saw the participation of numerous professionals from all over Italy. Among them, Giulia Ruscelli, barista of the customer Mokador Bar Lovo Pasticceria in Forlì, who was able to distinguish herself by winning 1st place using our Gran Miscela during the competition.
Giulia's victory represents a historic milestone: she is the first woman to win this recognition, thus becoming the best barista in Italy 2025.
A special round of applause also goes to Silvia Verlicchi, barista of the Mokador Chiribilli customer in Bagnacavallo, who demonstrated great passion, determination and commitment during the competition. Their journey represents an example of excellence and how daily commitment can lead to results of absolute importance.
The competition, based on the standards of the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC), uses these 3 evaluation metrics:
- Evaluation of the marketing speech: the barista talks about himself and the blend he is competing with.
- Sensory evaluation: the sensory jury analyses and evaluates the espressos and cappuccinos made by the barista from a sensorial point of view, in particular aesthetics and taste.
- Technical evaluation: the technical jury analyses and evaluates the management and professional use of the equipment made available.
The level of competitiveness was very high and the atmosphere full of enthusiasm made this edition memorable. Our participation ends with a result that fills us with pride: our Gran Miscela has confirmed itself on the podium with the winner of the Espresso Italiano Champion, as in 2019 with Stefano Cevenini who won the world title. This success testifies to the extraordinary quality of our coffee, the result of a rigorous selection process, a long experience in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector and a constant passion for excellence.
